5 February – 3 June 2018
This exhibition is a celebration of Romanian culture in Brent and beyond. At its centre is a collection of ornate decorated Easter eggs on loan to Brent Museum and Archives from the Horniman Museum and Gardens through their Object in Focus programme, funded through Arts Council England.
Brent Museum and Archives have been working in collaboration with Romanian Women in UK and the Romanian Cultural Institute to create an exhibition inspired by these decorated eggs. The display features a selection of photographs of contemporary Romanians living and working in London by Romanian photographer Ion Paciu which were part of the 2014 Revisiting Romania Exhibition at the Horniman.
Bringing together objects from members of the Romanian community, the exhibition will also feature eye-catching new photographs taken by photographer Mike Lupascu of Romanians in Brent.
