We are looking for Volunteers aged 15 to 24 to help run the Brent Libraries Summer Fun Festival!
About the Summer Fun Festival
The Summer Fun festival runs from 1 August to 31 August 2024.
T-Rex, Fabulous Medusa, Pegasus the winged horse, plus weird robotics!
Our summer fun reading festival programme features dinosaurs, Greek mythology in celebration of the Olympics, robotic workshops, The Jolly Lolly Sticks Show and lots of fun craft activities to get children reading this summer.

- You will be offered a library induction and briefings on events, and services you will be responsible for promoting including the Universal Library Offers.

Brent Libraries Volunteer Role Description
Library Volunteers welcome all our communities in using the library, accessing services and help to make sure each visit is a pleasant and enjoyable one. They help staff in providing additional support for customers who may require it and are always happy to help.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Delivering frontline customer service duties including support with access to self service facilities, public computers and basic stock queries
- Promoting library membership and the library offer including events and services
- Using and promoting online resources including the use of library apps to support learning, reading and information services to customers
- Maintaining the library premises and displays in a presentable and attractive manner, this may include: tidying stock, putting new stock on shelves, and helping create seasonal displays as appropriate
- Supporting the facilitation of events and activities through signposting customers and assisting with set-up and stand down
- Working effectively as part of a team with other colleagues and volunteers
- Undertake other duties as required and in line with the responsibilities of this role
We also expect you to:
- Perform your duties consistently and diligently to the best of your ability
- Adhere to codes of conduct such as the Dress Code
- Respect Libraries, Arts & Heritage rules and procedures, including confidentiality of information, equal opportunities policy, customer care and Health and Safety procedures related to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
