If you find it hard to get to the library due to mobility difficulties or any other reasons, you can use our Home Library Service.
Choose from a wide selection of books (including talking books), DVDs, magazines and many items in a range of different languages and get them delivered directly to your door by volunteers.
We also allow friends and relatives to collect books and other items on your behalf.
If you are interested in this service or know someone who would like to receive it, email: libraries@brent.gov.uk
Become a volunteer
We are always looking for volunteers who can deliver books and other library items to people who are unable to visit our libraries in person.
As a volunteer, we will ask you to:
- commit two to three hours, once every three weeks
- deliver books to customers across Brent
- return books and other items to nearby library branches.
We will cover the costs of any travel expenses, so please keep records of your visits.
If you can spare any time to volunteer with our home library and outreach service contact our home library service team.
Books for community organisations
Brent Libraries can loan books to community venues such as nursing homes, schools, sheltered housing, hostels, youth centres, children's centres and other community venues.
We can also provide multiple copies of books for reading groups that meet in community venues.
If you are a community organisation, and would like regular loans of books for your reading room, email: libraries@brent.gov.uk
