About this event
This summer, join rap artist and author BREIS for a bold, five-week creative adventure for 12 - 15 year olds where you’ll take over your local library and help shape a live poetry and spoken word event. Working alongside library staff, you’ll support the Summer Fun Festival for children aged 4–11, while developing your own creative and professional skills.
You’ll get hands-on experience planning and promoting events, creating library displays, running story and craft workshops, and producing a final celebration on Saturday 30 August to honour children’s reading achievements. Along the way, you’ll meet professionals from the arts and library world, build confidence, and gain valuable skills in event management, customer service, marketing, and teamwork.
At the end of the programme, you’ll receive a certificate of completion – perfect for boosting job, apprenticeship, or university applications.
