About this event
Join us for a relaxed coffee morning with Leslie Williams from the London Natural History Society as he shares insights from his book The Butterflies of London.
Butterflies add to the interest of our spring and summers, even in London. But like many beneficial insects, they are under pressure from changing environments. So how have butterflies fared in London?
The Butterflies of London describes the species that can be seen locally and includes maps showing how their distribution has changed since the first survey in the early 1980s.
There have been large changes. Some species have been lost, while others have appeared in areas where they were previously absent. The book also looks at where to see butterflies and how they can be encouraged in our neighbourhoods.
Come along and find out more!
