About this event
Ready to bond with your little one while boosting their early literacy skills? Join us for Bookstart Rhymetimes! These free, fun-filled sessions at your local library are perfect for babies and toddlers ages 0–5 and their parents or carers.
What is a Bookstart Rhymetime?
Our Rhymetime sessions last about 20-30 minutes and create a safe, supportive space for you and your child. We sing songs, share rhymes, and enjoy stories together. These informal sessions are a fantastic way to introduce your little one to the world of books and language.
Why are rhymes so important?
Rhymes aren't just fun—they're powerful tools for early learning! Regular exposure to rhymes and songs helps children develop key skills for communication and literacy. They learn about repetition, rhythm, and the sounds of words, which are essential for learning to read later on. Research even shows that a strong foundation in rhymes can be a predictor of a child's reading success, regardless of other factors.
So, come along and see for yourself how a few simple rhymes can make a big difference in your child's development. It's a great opportunity to connect with other families and make lasting memories. We can't wait to see you there!
