Alisher Ilkhamov, an emerging artist in the genre of photography, presents his captivating debut solo exhibition. His evocative works weave together Asian and Western influences, encompassing landscapes, architectural details, urban scenes, and meticulously constructed still lives.
He draws our attention to the extraordinary beauty in the ordinary, highlighting the individuality of a single leaf, twig or a vibrant flower. Through these carefully composed images, Ilkhamov invites viewers to contemplate the profound connection between humans and nature. His juxtapositions of youth and senescence, life and death, evoke existential themes, prompting us to reflect on our place in the world.
The Artist
In his youth, Alisher Ilkhamov studied easel painting for two years at the Tashkent Theatre and Art Institute. Although he later pursued a career in social research, he maintained his connection to the arts through frequent visits to art museums and exhibitions and by exploring photography.
This exhibition showcases a selection of artworks created over the past several years, marking Ilkhamov's second public presentation following his participation in the Yunus Emre Institute's annual exhibition in London (March 2024).
