General use
The Joy Social Prescribing platform is provided by Brent Council to support residents and enable them to stay up to date with local actives and organisations.
Brent Council does not recommend, endorse, or guarantee the quality, safety, or suitability of any service listed, and by using Joy Social Prescribing, you agree to these conditions as well as the website’s terms and conditions.
Joy Social Prescribing should only be used by adults or children with appropriate adult supervision.
Platform terms
All organisations listed on the Joy platform must:
- have a clear and demonstrable connection to Brent
- operate in a lawful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory manner and refrain from discriminatory practices based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics
- respect and promote diversity and equality
- must NOT in any way promote violence, hatred, or discrimination against individuals or groups
The Council reserves the right to remove any organisation that:
- does not meet the above criteria
- is linked, affiliated or associated with, officially or unofficially to any group or organisation or body that has expressed support for a terrorist organisation or extremist ideologies
use of the platform constitutes acceptance of these terms. The council may update these terms at any time without prior notice.
Legal disclaimer
Brent Council makes no recommendation, representation, endorsement, or warranty, whether express or implied as to the quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security or accuracy of any referrals or services listed on the Joy Social Prescribing platform.
Users are responsible for carrying out their own checks and are strongly advised to seek medical advice from a GP or qualified health professional before engaging with any service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Council accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from the use of the platform or reliance on any service listed.
Safeguarding
The Council does not guarantee the safeguarding practices of any organisation listed on this platform. Users are responsible for ensuring that appropriate safeguarding measures are in place before engaging with a service, particularly when vulnerable individuals are involved.
It is the user’s responsibility to carry out all necessary checks to confirm that the correct safeguarding procedures are followed. You may find the following guidance useful:
