Junk Kouture and Brent Council teamed up to drive sustainable fashion and promote the circular economy among local school children.

The partnership brought eco-friendly design workshops and fashion initiatives - such as the Creating Change panel events - directly into Brent schools and the Brent Civic Centre.

The Junk Kouture and Brent Council collaboration focused heavily on empowering young creatives to turn recycled materials into extraordinary wearable art. Here are a few ways the partnership has made an impact:

• School workshops and local talent: Junk Kouture visited local schools to run sustainable fashion workshops. For instance, Alperton Community School has frequently participated in the competition, with their A-Level and Year 12 textiles students making appearances in both the London and Global Finals.

• Creating Change Event: The two organisations hosted a "Creating Change" panel event at the Brent Civic Centre, bringing together local youth, Junk Kouture alumni, and professional designers to showcase ethical fashion.

• Global Reach: By participating in these local initiatives, students in Brent have the opportunity to showcase their recycled designs on an international scale.
