Brent Council’s Cabinet Member for Climate Action and Community Power, Cllr Jake Rubin, will be meeting with members of the local community group Action for the Climate Emergency (ACE) on Monday 3 November starting at 7pm.
This is the first in a series of discussions, with more dates to follow in the New Year.
The session on Monday 3 November will provide an opportunity to share updates on Brent’s ongoing work to embed sustainability and biodiversity into local planning and development decisions, as well as to hear directly from ACE about their priorities and ideas for the future.
About ACE Brent
ACE Brent is a coalition of 13 local environmental groups formed in 2023, bringing together residents and campaigners who share a commitment to accelerating action on climate and nature in Brent. The group’s priorities include:
- Developing a measurable and accountable Climate Action Plan aligned with social and environmental goals
- Promoting action on active travel, retrofitting, tree planting, renewable energy and sustainable food systems
- Encouraging public participation and transparent reporting on climate progress
Cllr Jake Rubin said:
"Tackling the climate emergency means working together – with residents, community groups, and developers – to make sure that every planning decision and every local investment supports a greener, fairer and more resilient Brent.
I’m looking forward to hearing from ACE Brent and sharing more about the work already underway to improve biodiversity, champion sustainable development, and embed climate action in everything we do as a Council."
The meeting reflects Brent’s ongoing commitment to open dialogue and partnership with local climate and biodiversity groups as part of the borough’s Climate and Ecological Emergency Strategy.
