Understanding what matters to our residents
Brent’s Resident Attitudes Survey is an important piece of research the Council does every 4 to 5 years. The survey helps us understand how people feel about living in the borough, using council services and what really matters to our residents.
Residents are selected at random and approached by trained interviewers. We are aiming to hear from people of all backgrounds, faiths and walks of life. In person interviews can be door-to-door or in-street and expected to take place between mid-May to the end of July.
Every response helps ensure that decisions are based on real experiences and a wide range of voices from across the borough.
Independent, confidential and voluntary
The survey is carried out by an independent research company on behalf of the council. The interviewers will have ID badges and a Council authorisation letter. If you are approached to take part, you can be confident that:
- All responses are confidential and reported anonymously
- Brent Council will not be able to see individual responses
- Taking part is completely voluntary
- Your personal information will not be used for marketing or sales purposes
Why your feedback matters
We want to hear from lots of different residents, so the results of the survey represent our diverse borough. Please take part if you are invited. Your views make a real difference.
The feedback we receive through the Resident Attitudes Survey will be used to:
- Shape council priorities and decisions
- Improve the services we deliver
- Identify areas where change or investment is needed
- Help us understand upcoming issues and opportunities
- Monitor resident satisfaction over time
- Understand how different communities experience life in the borough
A summary of the findings will be shared publicly, and the insight gained will help guide how we plan and deliver services in the future.
