A jolt of over £260,000 in funding is going to be used to power up Willesden Green Leisure Centre with solar panels.
The green funding injection will mainly be used to make the centre less reliant on the grid, using energy created by the sun. Some of the money will then be used to upgrade lighting to more energy-efficient LEDs.
This promises not just to bring sustainable energy to the forefront, but also to make a splash by heating the pool and centre with the power generated on the roof.
