Wembley High Road will open a month ahead of schedule, on Friday 18 April.
The reopening comes one month ahead of schedule, thanks to the hard work of Brent's contractor, G W Highways LTD.
These once-in-a-generation engineering works involved big structural improvements to every layer of the road, including the leaky drainage system which has been routinely causing potholes and other damage on the surface. A whopping 4,500 tonnes of material has been recycled.
Along the way, the hardworking contractors also uncovered some of Wembley’s long-dormant history, including a tram line which ran the length of the road.
The road will be open throughout the day from the 14 April without the final surface layer. That finishing touch will be laid over four nights (8pm-5am), with the road fully complete and open from 18 April.
