The Brent Climate Charter has reached a major milestone: its 100th signatory. Launched two years ago, the Charter helps businesses and other organisations cut their environmental impact and supports Brent’s aim for carbon neutrality by 2030.

Signing up to the Charter gives organisations practical tools, including the Climate Essentials Carbon Management Platform, funding opportunities like the Energy Resilience Fund and Community Builders Fund, and ways to showcase their green achievements. Signatories track their progress and share their successes to inspire others.

SonaLisa Bose, owner of Kulkumry Coffee in Brent, said: “We are thrilled and proud to be the 100th organisation to sign up to the Brent Climate Charter, putting sustainability first, and actively contributing to Brent’s aim of carbon neutrality by 2030.”

“

Reaching 100 signatories is a huge milestone and I want to thank every organisation that has stepped up and made a commitment to Brent’s future.

Cllr Jake Rubin, Cabinet Member for Climate Action and Community Power, said: “Reaching 100 signatories is a huge milestone and I want to thank every organisation that has stepped up and made a commitment to Brent’s future. This is what climate action looks like when it is rooted in action locally and I’m pleased to see so many businesses and community groups join us in that fight.

“The Brent Climate Charter goes beyond words by offering real support to help organisations cut costs, reduce carbon and do the right thing for our planet and our borough. I would encourage more businesses to join this growing movement and be part of Brent’s sustainability story.”

Last week, Brent launched the Green Business Directory, a free online guide to local businesses that provide green products and services. Businesses can use the directory to connect with like-minded businesses, while residents can discover how and where to shop local to make Brent greener.
