An infant and junior school will join to become one primary school following a Cabinet decision today.
Members agreed that Malorees Infant and Junior Schools, that are currently federated, will become Malorees Primary School from April 2026. The primary school will continue to meet the needs of all children currently catered for across all age groups.
The decision means that the whole school will be part of the Government’s School Rebuilding Programme. Construction work is expected to start in September 2026 with the work completed by December 2027. This will provide an improved and more efficient building environment for pupils and staff.
The school’s governing board is committed to high quality teaching and learning for all pupils in a nurturing environment. There will no reduction in staffing when the schools join together.
