Brent Museum and Archives has been awarded a grant of £122K from Department for Culture, Media and Sport through Arts Council England’s Museum Renewal Fund.

The funding will help the museum secure its future, improve how it looks after its collections and create a better experience for visitors.

The Museum Renewal Fund grant is a significant boost for Brent Museum and Archives, helping it to continue serving the local community by preserving and promoting Brent’s rich cultural heritage. The funding will be used to:

  • Carry out a full audit of the museum’s extensive collections, which will be used to inform and update the permanent gallery displays.
  • Purchase new contactless donation points, making it easier for visitors to make voluntary donations to the museum.
  • Invest in new technology for staff and volunteers working in the museum.
“

I’m delighted that Brent Museum and Archives has been awarded this generous grant. This funding will play a crucial role in securing the future of the museum and improving the care and presentation of our collections.

It also reflects the importance of Brent’s history and heritage and the value it holds for our community. We look forward to seeing the museum evolve with refreshed galleries and new technology that will enhance how residents and visitors engage with Brent’s stories.
