Children and teachers have moved into a £22 million SEND (specialist educational needs and disability) school in Wembley following the completion of a year-long construction project.
Wembley Manor School in London Road provides 150 much-needed specialist places for local secondary-aged children. Until now, many families had to travel outside Brent to access the right support, but the new school means children can learn and thrive closer to home.
The new site covers an area of 3,801 square meters over three stories and consists of 121 modular units, all manufactured at contractor Reds10’s offsite facility in East Yorkshire before being shipped to Brent and installed on site by the Reds10 team.
The three-storey building has been designed with pupils’ needs at its heart, creating bright, modern classrooms and specialist spaces that support learning, wellbeing, and independence. The project has also set new standards for sustainability, with the building on track to achieve the highest environmental rating.
