Children and teachers have moved into a £22 million SEND (specialist educational needs and disability) school in Wembley following the completion of a year-long construction project.

Wembley Manor School in London Road provides 150 much-needed specialist places for local secondary-aged children. Until now, many families had to travel outside Brent to access the right support, but the new school means children can learn and thrive closer to home.

The new site covers an area of 3,801 square meters over three stories and consists of 121 modular units, all manufactured at contractor Reds10’s offsite facility in East Yorkshire before being shipped to Brent and installed on site by the Reds10 team.

The three-storey building has been designed with pupils’ needs at its heart, creating bright, modern classrooms and specialist spaces that support learning, wellbeing, and independence. The project has also set new standards for sustainability, with the building on track to achieve the highest environmental rating.

“

Wembley Manor will make a huge difference for families in Brent, and I know it will become a place where children feel supported, valued, and inspired.

Cllr Gwen Grahl, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People, and Schools, said:
"It’s fantastic to see pupils settling into their new school. Wembley Manor will make a huge difference for families in Brent, and I know it will become a place where children feel supported, valued, and inspired."

Headteacher, Andrew Chaplin, added: "Our new school building is already making such a positive impact. The children love their new classrooms, and staff are excited to be teaching in such a purpose-built environment. This is the start of a very special journey for our school community."

Jayne Jardine, CEO of The Rise Partnership Trust, said: "Wembley Manor is more than just a building; it’s a place where children and families can flourish. A big thank you to Reds10 and the Brent team for all their support; they’ve been amazing. We’re delighted to welcome everyone in and can’t wait to see what our pupils achieve here."

Joe Shepherd, Managing Director, Public Sector at Reds10, said: “We’re immensely proud to have completed Wembley Manor and to see the new school open its doors. This project showcases what’s possible when innovation, collaboration and purpose come together, the result being a high-quality, sustainable environment where students can thrive. Completing ahead of schedule, to budget, and on track to achieve BREEAM Outstanding certification is testament to our team’s dedication and the strong partnership with Brent Council and The Rise Partnership Trust, which has resulted in one of the most sustainable SEND schools in the country.”
