Brent Communications

A full list of candidates standing in the local government elections on Thursday 7 May 2026 has been confirmed for the London Borough of Brent. All 22 wards will be contested.

Kim Wright, Returning Officer and Chief Executive of Brent Council, said “This is your opportunity to vote for who you want to represent you and your local area on the council for the next four years. I urge everyone to check that you are registered to vote by midnight on Monday 20 April, and consider applying for a postal vote if that’s a more convenient option.”

Voters in Brent have a range of options for casting their ballot – in person, by post or by appointing someone they trust to vote in their place, known as a proxy vote.

“

This is your opportunity to vote for who you want to represent you and your local area on the council for the next four years.

  • A qualifying Commonwealth citizen (including Cyprus and Malta);
  • From Ireland;
  • A citizen of Denmark, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, or Spain who has permission to enter or stay in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man – or who does not need permission.
