The local elections will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026 in all of Brent's 22 wards. This will see registered voters in Brent voting for who they want to represent them as their local councillor.
You can use our ward map to find out which ward you are voting in, and you can see the full list of candidates standing for election here.
Ways you can vote
There are three ways you can vote in the local elections:
Voting in person at a polling station
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 7 May 2026.
Before polling day, you will be sent a poll card which will tell you where your polling station is. You can also use our polling station finder if you’re not sure.
You do not need to take the poll card with you to vote, but it will help polling station staff find your address on the voting register if you do.
To ensure that you can reach your polling station easily, we are suspending all School Streets with polling stations on election day.
Voter ID
If you are voting in person, you will need to show photo ID to vote at a polling station.
There are a number of accepted forms of ID, including:
• passport
• driver’s license
• multiple concessionary travel passes
• PASS card (Proof of Age Standards Scheme)
• blue badge
