Brent young people celebrate A Level results and look ahead to their next chapter

Young people across Brent are receiving their A Level and BTEC results today, marking the end of years of hard work and the beginning of a new chapter.

Brent’s A level students achieved significantly higher than the national picture for A*, A and B grades, with almost 100% of candidates securing a pass. Vocational students also performed strongly, with around 70% achieving a Distinction or Distinction*.

For many, Results Day is a brilliant opportunity to celebrate with friends, family and teachers and reflect on everything they have achieved. For others, it can be a more challenging day, particularly if their results are not what they had hoped for.

Whatever today brings, Brent Council is here to help young people as they take their next steps. Support is available to help them explore their options and find the right path, from apprenticeships and employment to further education and university.

“

I want to congratulate every young person receiving their results today and recognise the hard work and determination that has brought them to this point.

Councillor Jake Rubin, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Employment & Climate Action, said:

“I want to congratulate every young person receiving their results today and recognise the hard work and determination that has brought them to this point.

“Results Day can bring a huge sense of achievement, but it can also feel daunting or disappointing if things have not gone to plan. If that is you, remember that one set of results does not define your future.

“There are lots of opportunities ahead, and Brent is here to help you find your way through them. Whatever happens today, be proud of how far you have come and look forward to what comes next.”

For students considering their next steps, the Wembley Jobs Fair offers an opportunity to meet employers and explore local employment, training and apprenticeship opportunities. The event takes place on Tuesday 15 September, from 10am to 4pm at Wembley Stadium, and registration for free tickets is now open.
