There's a lot to be proud of in Brent, and we're continuing to invest in the things that matter most to local people.
Since April, we've investigated more than 3,000 reports of fly-tipping, helping to keep our streets, estates, and public spaces clean. We've also been acting against those who dump waste and damage our neighbourhoods.
To build on this work, we're investing £1.2 million in borough-wide street cleaning services. This will fund more cleaning teams, litter pickers, street sweepers, and dedicated estate-cleaning teams, helping us respond more quickly and keep Brent looking its best.
We're also making sure local people have a stronger voice in shaping the future of their communities. That's why I'm pleased that independent chairs have now been appointed to lead the new Neighbourhood Boards in Harlesden and St Raphael's as part of the Government's Pride in Place programme.
Sandra White in Harlesden and Priyesh Patel in St Raphael's will bring together residents, businesses, and community groups to help decide how £20 million will be invested in each area over the next 10 years. This is a real opportunity for local people to influence decisions and help shape the future of their neighbourhoods.
These investments will support stronger communities, create new opportunities, and deliver improvements that reflect what residents want to see. As the programme gets underway, I encourage everyone to get involved and make sure their voice is heard. I encourage everyone in Harlesden and St Raphael's to get involved and share their ideas with the Boards.
