Brent celebrates record success at London in Bloom Awards

Brent in partnership with Krinkels; the Councils Grounds Maintenance Contractor, has achieved its best London in Bloom results in recent years, bringing home 14 awards, including two category wins, recognising the borough's outstanding parks, green spaces and the dedication of local volunteers.

The annual London in Bloom competition celebrates communities, parks and green spaces across the capital, recognising excellence in horticulture, environmental responsibility and community participation. Judges visit entries during the summer before awards are announced in the autumn.

This year, Brent increased its total from 11 awards in 2025 to 14 awards in 2026, demonstrating the continued success of the council, volunteers and community groups working together to make the borough greener and more attractive places to live, work and visit.

The awards recognise not only the quality of Brent's parks and green spaces but also the commitment of local volunteers who help maintain and improve them throughout the year.

Particular praise goes to Barnhill Conservation Group, which manages the award-winning Roe Green Walled Garden, and the Friends of Gladstone Park Gardening Group, which cares for Gladstone Park Walled Garden. Both groups played a vital role in securing Brent's two category-winning entries.

Councillor Promise Knight, Cabinet Member for Community Safety, Public Realm, Environment and Enforcement, said:

"I am delighted that Brent has been recognised with 14 London in Bloom awards this year, improving on last year's excellent achievement and showcasing the incredible quality of our parks and green spaces.

"These awards are a testament to the dedication of our parks teams, residents and, in particular, the fantastic volunteers who give their time to care for green spaces across the borough.

Their commitment shows the difference local people can make when they come together to improve and protect the places we all enjoy.

The council will continue working alongside residents, volunteers and community organisations to enhance Brent's parks and green spaces, ensuring they remain welcoming, sustainable and enjoyable for generations to come.
