Things to do outside

Why not discover one of the parks and open spaces on your doorstep.

Play a game of tennis on a recently refurbished court, join in a FREE Our Parks fitness session, use the Outdoor Gyms with a qualified fitness instructor, join our walk leaders and go for a walk or take a picnic and enjoy time with friends and family. 

Get on your bike and explore the hidden gems of Brent.

If you do not have a bike or want to get a bit more confident, we can help! Free cycle training; try a bike for a month scheme and bike maintenance and places to park.

Summer holiday activities

Keep the children entertained and active at one of the Holiday activity programmes, at a number of locations across the borough – they can try different sports and crafts activities and make new friends. Find out about what is on offer and if you are eligible for a free space for your child.

Do not forget, Willesden Sports Centre and Vale Farm Sports Centre offer Kids Swim Free, FREE swimming at certain times for children as well as many other activities. Download the Kids Swim Free application form.

Visit our libraries

Brent’s amazing libraries are offering a fantastic programme of activities for children including the Summer Reading Challenge Wild World Heroes – discover how you can make a difference to the environment, cartoon workshops, storytelling, Zoolab, writing, crafts and poetry.

There are events for adults too with author nights, various exhibitions including sculpture, glass and photography. 

Music and culture

There is music and culture too with events such as Brent UK UNSIGNED Mini-Festival, Tomorrow’s Warriors – The Reggae Ticket, Dance and Circus Performances and Queens Park Book Festival.

Do not forget the Kiln Theatre the Kiln Theatre and the Lexi Cinema the Lexi Cinema will be having some great events too.
