Sudbury Town Neighbourhood Plan
On 10 September 2015 the Sudbury Town Neighbourhood Plan passed referendum, with 94% voting in favour of its adoption. The Neighbourhood Plan forms part of Brent's Local Plan and guides development in the Neighbourhood Area alongside other Development Plan policies. Sudbury Neighbourhood Forum Status Renewal
In October 2017 Sudbury Town Residents’ Association (STRA) applied to renew its status as the designated Neighbourhood Forum for the Sudbury Town Neighbourhood Area. STRA was first designated as the Forum for the Neighbourhood Area in December 2012, however, Neighbourhood Forum designations expire after five years.
We assessed the application and were satisfied that it complied with the statutory requirements as set out in the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 and Town and Country Planning Act 1990. The application and supporting documents were consulted on for a 6 week period from 17 October to 28 November 2017. Ninety-eight responses were received to the consultation with no objections. On 8 December 2017 we approved the designation of Sudbury Town Neighbourhood Forum for a further 5 years.
On Monday 27 July 2015 Brent Council's Cabinet approved for the Sudbury Town Neighbourhood Plan to progress to a referendum. The cabinet report forms the council's formal decision statement. The referendum took place on Thursday 10 September 2015.
The neighbourhood plan underwent examination in May 2015. The independent examiners report into the Sudbury Town Neighbourhood Plan, recommends the plan progress to a referendum subject to a number of modifications.
Publication of the plan
The Sudbury Town Neighbourhood Forum (Sudbury Town Residents’ Association) submitted the Sudbury Town Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents to the council on 12 August 2014.
We confirmed we were satisfied the plan and process followed complies with the statutory requirements as set out in paragraph 6 of Schedule 4B of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended). This was confirmed in writing on 5 September 2014.
The draft plan and supporting documents were published for a six week period from 23 October to 3 December 2014. During this period, the documents were available at Vale Farm Sports Centre and Wembley Library at Brent Civic Centre.

Preparation of the Plan
The forum undertook a series of consultation events and exercises between May 2012 and March 2014, as outlined in their consultation statement. This included consultation on an options report during November and December 2013, and consultation on the draft neighbourhood plan for a six week period between January and March 2014.
All comments received on the draft neighbourhood plan were taken into account and the plan has been amended.
Neighbourhood Area and Forum Designation
Sudbury Town Residents' Association submitted an application for a neighbourhood area (.pdf, 3.31MB) and to become a neighbourhood forum (.pdf, 37.8kB). The applications were subject to a six week consultation period which ended on 19 October 2012. No comments were received.
On 12 December 2012 we approved the designation of Sudbury Town Neighbourhood Forum and Neighbourhood Area.
