Planned maintenance to Council Tax and Benefits online services
We will be carrying out essential maintenance to My Account on Thursday 17 September. During this time, you will not be able to access your Council Tax or Housing Benefit account between 3pm and 5pm. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Some council services are currently affected as a result of the temporary closure of Brent Civic Centre.
We are working to maintain services wherever possible and to support residents who need access to council services. Please use the information below to check whether your service is affected and what alternative arrangements are available.
For emergencies, continue to use the normal emergency contact numbers.

The team is available Monday to Friday, 9am – 4pm.
If you need emergency accommodation or are at immediate risk of homelessness, do not wait for the Civic Centre to reopen. Please contact our Homelessness team as soon as possible.
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm. Outside of these hours, call: 020 8937 1234. When you call, tell them what your situation is and why it’s urgent.
Status: Service available with temporary arrangements
Domestic abuse support remains available during the Civic Centre closure. You do not need to wait for the building to reopen to access help. If you are in immediate danger, call 999.
A Domestic Abuse Housing Officer will be available at both:
to support residents who need to be seen in person.
Because private meeting space is limited at these locations, most assessments will be carried out by telephone. This helps us protect residents' privacy and confidentiality while ensuring support remains available. If a face-to-face appointment is needed, this will be arranged with you.

Birth and death registrations continue to take place using temporary arrangements.
Please contact the Registration Service and the team will advise you on the current process.
Weddings and ceremonies
Weddings and ceremonies scheduled for Wednesday 26th, Thursday 27th and Friday 28th August have been cancelled. All affected couples have been contacted directly. No decision has yet been made regarding ceremonies scheduled beyond this period.
We are reviewing arrangements and will provide further updates as soon as possible. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to couples who had weddings planned and are affected by the temporary closure of Brent Civic Centre.
The Cemeteries office team are currently working remotely. Enquiries can be made by telephone 020 8937 5733 or by emailing cemeteries@brent.gov.uk.
All burials currently scheduled to take place across Brent Cemeteries will go ahead as planned.
