We aim to make every polling station in Brent to be welcoming and accessible to all voters. Here’s what you can expect when you go to vote in person:
- wheelchair accessible polling stations with ramps provided where required
- good lighting both inside and outside the building
- doors and entrances wide enough for mobility aids
- clear signage to help with directions and guidance.
If you have difficulty entering the building, our staff are trained to offer support.
Support and equipment available
We will provide:
- a tactile voting device to help voters with a visual impairment mark their vote independently
- a large print version of the ballot paper for reference
- magnifiers and pencils with easy grip attachments.
Polling staff can explain how to use any of the available equipment, and will offer respectful assistance whenever needed.
Should you need information on the different ways you can vote, please visit ways you can vote.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome at all our polling stations. To help our staff identify a working dog, we ask that it is clearly identifiable by an appropriate jacket and harness.
