With an online Housing Benefit account, you can:
- view your benefits account summary
- make a new claim for housing benefit
- make a new claim for Council Tax Support
- Report a change in circumstances
- use the online benefits calculator
- apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment
- dispute a benefit decision
- pay back a housing benefit overpayment
- close an online benefits account
If you have an active benefits claim, you will need to activate your online Housing Benefit account to view a summary of your current claim and benefits history:
Before you start it can be helpful to have a copy of a notification letter or email from us, that has your Housing Benefit details on it.
How to activate the online Housing Benefit service
- First you will need to register for, or sign into My Account
- Select 'Benefits'
- Then click on 'Manage your benefits'
- Click on 'Report A Change In Circumstances/ E-Notifications'
- Then select: 'View my claim summary' to activate
- You will be asked to enter:
- your full name (including any given or middle names)
- National Insurance number
- date of birth
- address where you are currently living
If all of the information matches up correctly, you will be able to access the service.
