The Brent Food Partnership brings together local charities, community groups, businesses, Brent Council and others who believe that good food should be available to everyone.
We are working together to build a local food system that is:
- Healthy – improving access to nutritious food
- Fair – making sure food is affordable and available to all
- Sustainable – protecting the environment and reducing food waste
- Local – supporting growers, businesses and jobs in Brent
What we are doing
Food plays a big part in our health, economy and environment. That’s why the Brent Food Partnership is working with:
- Local food growers
- Schools
- Health professionals
- Shops and businesses
- Charities and community groups
Together, we’re finding solutions to problems like:
- Food insecurity (not having regular access to enough food)
- Poor access to fresh, healthy food
- Food waste
- A lack of local food growing and sharing opportunities
We also want to bring people together through food – whether it’s growing, cooking or sharing meals as a community.
Brent’s First Food Strategy
Brent Council and local charity Sufra are leading the way by creating the borough’s first-ever Food Strategy.
This plan will guide how we can make long-term changes so that everyone in Brent can access food that is good for people, good for the planet and good for the local economy.
