Brent Health Matters team

Applications for the Community Grants Fund closed on Sunday 5 November 2023 after receipt of 114 applications. Collectively these applications added up to potential projects of over £1million, so the evaluation panels had some tough choices to make.

Because of the strength of the submissions and the good BHM knows the projects will bring to their communities, the council was able to raise the funding from £250,000 to £433,000 in order to allow 46 different projects to receive the funding they needed.

Here are all of the successful grants and the local organisations that are now rolling out Brent-based community projects and looking to make a difference in the community:

Brent Health Matters Community Grant Fund

The Fund seeks to support projects that:

  • Focus on addressing health inequalities in Brent by targeting the broader factors that affect health.
  • Focus on health awareness and encourage healthy lifestyles.
  • Raise awareness and provide resources for emotional and mental health support within the identified groups.
  • Promote the importance of preventative screenings, health education, and early intervention programs.
  • Encourage immunisation/vaccination uptake through awareness, outreach and accessibility for the target groups.
  • Improve health and wellbeing for an identified group.
  • Have clear and measurable outcomes that demonstrate impact.
