Since joining Brent Health Matters, Gopal Patel has been using his pharmacy training and skills to deliver outreach support across the community
Gopal became part of the BHM clinical team when he was employed by Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust in July 2022. After qualifying as a pharmacist, Gopal spent five years working in retail pharmacies across London, before spending four years in hospital pharmacy.
When Gopal noticed a job opening as a BHM Specialist Health Inequalities Pharmacist, he jumped at the chance and hasn’t looked back.
Joining BHM has been an amazing opportunity to make a difference. I support patients at outreach community events and in their homes and I am given the time to build relationships with patients and help them holistically. We address barriers, support patients to manage their medications and long-term conditions, and signpost to relevant services. To be a BHM pharmacist you need to be empathetic, compassionate, and communicative. It is a very rewarding role.
Gopal has continued to develop professionally whilst working for BHM and is currently completing a prescribing course focused on hypertension.
