Assisted bin collections

If you have difficulty putting out your recycling or rubbish you can apply for an assisted bin collection.

We will collect bins from the doorstep or an agreed place and return them to the same place once emptied.

How to apply

Please use our online application form to:

• apply for an assisted collection
• tell us that the collection is no longer required

When completing the form you will need to tell us why you need help with your bins e.g. you have a disability or illness. 

You can request this service for:

• 6 months
• 12 months
• Indefinitely (this will be reviewed periodically)

If there is someone at the address who can move the bins, you will not qualify for an assisted collection.

What happens next

Our Waste and Recycling team will contact you within 5 working days to confirm arrangements.

Upon receipt, we will assess your request.

The assisted collection list will be reviewed regularly and you may be contacted again in the future to see if you still need the service.

When you no longer need assistance 

You should cancel your assisted collection registration if and when you no longer require the service. 

If at any time, a person is found living in the house that could move the bins; the assisted collection can be stopped immediately.
