A historic cemetery offering peaceful spaces for burial, remembrance and reflection.

Update on the chapels at Paddington Old Cemetery

We are introducing extra safety measures around the historic chapels while further structural investigations take place. Find out more about what this means for visitors and how we are looking at options to protect the buildings for the future.

Paddington Old Cemetery opened in 1855 and is located in Willesden Lane, Kilburn.

A limited number of beautiful below-ground vaults are available for purchase in the woodland, beyond the chapels.

In 2021 an attractive above-ground columbarium was created for inurnment of cremated remains.

It has two Grade II listed Gothic-style chapels and is currently recognised in Historic England's Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England. It also won an award in the National Cemetery of the Year award 1999.

To celebrate the Millennium in 2000 new trees were planted and there is an apiary within the cemetery that produces 'Tombstone honey'

Note: The last entry to all cemeteries is 15 minutes before closing time. This allows visitors to conclude their visits respectfully and enables our staff to secure the premises.
