Church End market is being relocated from November 2022 to Church Road, meaning Church Road will be closed on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
This is a good opportunity to see what the impact of reduced traffic has on air quality in the area. We will therefore be setting up top quality sensors on the high street to monitor the air quality before and after the market move as well as looking comparing market days and non-market days.
Tackling air pollution is at the heart of our net zero strategy, as we know that residents are rightly worried about its effects. Improvements to air quality will have a hugely positive effect to the local community.
This is part of our project to revitalise Church End, making it a more pleasant place to walk, cycle and shop.
