Voters in Alperton have one week left to apply to vote by post in the upcoming by-election.

Applications can now be made online, and must be received by the council by 5pm on 3 February.

In order to vote in this election, residents must be on the electoral register by 31 January, over the age of 18 on polling day, and live in Alperton ward. There is still time to register to vote.

“

This is your opportunity to elect a Councillor to represent you and the ward.

Kim Wright,
Returning Officer and Chief Executive of Brent Council

Kim Wright, Returning Officer and Chief Executive of Brent Council, said: “If you live in Alperton, this is your opportunity to elect a Councillor to represent you and the ward on Brent Council.

“You can cast your ballot in person, by post or by appointing someone you trust to vote in your place – whichever is most convenient for you.”

Paper postal vote application forms can also be requested by emailing Electoral.Services@brent.gov.uk or by calling 020 8937 1372. Proxy vote applications for this by-election can be made until 5pm on 10 February.

Following the UK’s departure from the European Union, voting rights for EU citizens living in England have changed. The easiest way for EU citizens to check their eligibility is to answer a few questions on the Government’s website.
