The council formally adopted a new Local Plan in February 2022.
It includes policies around housing, town centres, open space employment, community facilities, the built and natural environment and transport.
Local Plan documents
In addition to the London Plan, Brent's development plan is made up of:
- Brent Local Plan 2019 - 2041 (adopted)
- Brent Local Plan 2019 - 2041 (adopted) accessible version
- West London Waste plan
Whilst we have made every effort to make the Brent Local Plan document accessible, if you encounter any accessibility issues please contact us.
These plans are accompanied by a policies map.
Some areas are also subject to Neighbourhood Plans, which need to be considered when determining planning applications.
In part of the borough (most land south of the North Circular and West Coast Mainline, such as Park Royal), the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation is the Local Planning Authority. It is important to note that different planning documents apply. This area can be seen on the policies map.
Download the Local Plan booklet for a summary of the development opportunities that exist across the Local Plan Growth Areas.
