Harlesden Library

Harlesden Library is close to the main shopping district in the area, where locals and visitors can enjoy the vibrant and diverse atmosphere with music emanating from the record stores and food from all over the word available in the stores. 

With special black interest book collections, an exhibition space, adult learning centre and places for quiet workspace, there’s lots of reasons to stop by.

The library is free to use and join allowing library members to borrow books and use computers.

Visitors can access the internet using wifi, utilise reference material, newspapers, magazines, participate in activities, events and more.  We also have an extensive digital resources available in the library and remotely.

Every library has resources for children, young people and adults.  Material that is not available at a particular library can be requested from a vast network of other London libraries as part of The Library Consortium.

Please note due to our regular events programme, our libraries can be noisier at some times than others. Please contact the library for more information if required.

Facilities at the library

  • loan and reference books for adults and children in many languages including Arabic, Polish and Gujurati.
  • newspapers, magazines, audio books and DVD rentals
  • spacious area for children and parents with books and reading space
  • study spaces 
  • public toilets
  • public computers with free wifi
  • photocopier, scanner and printer - black and white and colour available
  • self service computer kiosks to access Brent Council services 
  • Brent Hubs every Wednesday
  • Brent Start adult learning services also deliver courses at Harlesden Library.

CCTV is installed in all Brent libraries to ensure the security and safety of customers, contractors, employees, and visitors.

Library access

  • pedestrian approach is level at the front of the building and has a wide pavement. There is no dropped kerbs or tactile paving.
  • no level/ramp access at the front of the building
  • entrance via an automatic door
  • access through the lift
