Willesden Gallery has been open since late summer 2015 and is located within The Library at Willesden Green. The gallery has had many successful shows over the years from local, national and international artists from a wide range of artistic backgrounds. Each exhibition has had approximately four thousand visits, helping to raise the artists’ profiles by exposing them to new audiences. The gallery has been an effective stepping stone for many artists, both emerging and established, resulting in sales, commissions and future exhibitions.
Over the past year, whilst dealing with the uncertainty and anxiety caused by COVID-19, we have found practicing gratitude to be one of the most powerful ways to stay calm and hopeful for the future. As such, we are taking the month of March, whilst the gallery remains closed, to bring you a retrospective of our past exhibitions in order to showcase the artists we have had the privilege of exhibiting since we first opened in 2015.
Additionally, as March 8th is International Women’s Day, next week we will be highlighting some of the amazing female artists we have worked with in the past. Working in a variety of media, these artists have explored themes of loneliness, urban life, conceptions of space, Brent’s history, the changing of the seasons, audience participation, landscapes, travel photography, and human emotion.
We hope you enjoy, and hope to be able to open our doors to you all again soon.
