Number Champions is a charity supporting primary school children in numeracy.
Our trained volunteers use games and other creative activities in weekly one-to-one sessions to help children gain interest, confidence, and skills in the subject, so that they can reengage with classroom lessons and achieve their educational potential.
Teachers select the children who have fallen behind and can benefit from help. We currently support 300 state primary school children in London, of whom 62% are from disadvantaged backgrounds. We publish evidence of the strong positive impact of our programme in our Annual Report.
We welcome enquiries from primary schools and from prospective volunteers. The skills required are to be able to engage young children and to be passionate about improving their educational chances – we will give you all the support you need on the numeracy side.
