For the first time in 12 years, two parks and one community garden have been awarded a Green Flag Award, symbol of excellence in the management of parks and green spaces worldwide.

The accolade places the following parks among the best in the whole of the UK:

  • King Edwards VII park Wembley
  • Bramshill Open Space
  • Roe Green Walled Garden - looked after and maintained by Barn Hill Conservation Group.
“

This is a massive achievement for everyone that works so hard on keeping our green spaces so welcoming and beautiful

”
Cllr Krupa Sheth, Lead member for environment
Councillor Krupa Sheth,
Cabinet Member for Environment and Enforcement

Councillor Krupa Sheth, Cabinet Member for Environment and Enforcement, said: "This is a massive achievement for everyone that works so hard on keeping our green spaces so welcoming and beautiful. I am so proud and I know that residents will join me in congratulating the Parks Service, volunteers and members of the public who make our green spaces great.

This is a recognition of the hard work of Krinkels, our contractor who maintain and enhance King Edwards and Bramshill Open Space, as well as local groups such as Barn Hill Conservation group who maintain Roe Green Walled Garden.

The Green Flag Award scheme is administered by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, under licence from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government. It celebrates and promotes well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the gold standard for excellence across the UK and beyond.
