What is emergency planning

In emergency planning, our aim is to reduce the chances of these emergencies occurring and if they do occur reducing their impact on residents and the environment to a minimum.

What to do in an emergency

During an emergency we along with the police will utilise local radio stations to broadcast emergency warnings and information.

Preparing for an emergency

There are a number of things you and your family can do to help prepare and keep yourselves safe during any emergency.

Severe weather

Severe weather refers to any dangerous or intense weather which could cause damage to buildings, serious social disruption and/or loss of human life.

Community resilience is about recognising how vital local knowledge and community networks are to increasing the speed and effectiveness of emergency response.
