Due to the unprecedented impact of COVID-19, council services are being stretched as we assist the community. We are working hard to try and maintain service delivery to our residents as close to “normal” as possible during these challenging times.

For our customers who have contacted us requesting services, we are trying our best to respond in line with specified response times, however there may be a slight delay due to operational pressures which are beyond our control.

We ask that residents bear with us during this challenging period and be assured that we will respond as soon possible. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

Brent Hubs

In order to protect the safety and wellbeing of staff and residents during the current coronavirus pandemic, all Brent Hubs are now closed.

This includes Brent Hubs Harlesden, Brent Hubs Kilburn, Brent Hubs Willesden and Brent Hubs Wembley.

Remember you can log into your My Account where you can manage your payments, apply for benefit and support claims, tell us if your circumstances have changed and access a range of other council services, and this is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you do need to speak to someone, the telephone Contact Centre is still open as normal from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. Call us on 020 8937 1234.

Brent Start

Brent Start is Brent’s adult education college.

The safety and wellbeing of residents and our staff is always our priority. Following government guidance to stop all social gatherings, and to encourage social distancing, all Brent Start classes have now closed until further notice. Learners can still access e-learning materials through Google classroom. If you need to contact us, please call 0208 937 3950 or email brent.start@brent.gov.uk. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Parks

We all know how important parks are for physical and mental wellbeing. However, in the current climate we are concerned that people are not heeding the advice on social distancing and are crowding together in playgrounds, gyms, and games areas.

That’s why we’ve taken the decision to close playgrounds, gyms (where they are fenced in), and games areas (i.e. tennis courts).

Parks and open spaces remain open, and we are urging people to follow the latest public health advice while out and about.

Find out more about changes to how you can use Brent's parks.

Parking

During this difficult time, we will be taking a common-sense approach to parking enforcement. We will also be providing extra support to our amazing key workers, from NHS staff and emergency services to carers and community volunteers.

Road and pavement repairs

Under the current circumstances, we have taken the difficult decision to pause our footway improvement programme. Our contractors will be wrapping up works as quickly as possible and will pick the programme up again at a later date. They will continue to work over the next few days to finish off dug up areas so that pavements are left in a safe condition.

In the coming weeks, our highways teams will be focused on carrying out emergency repairs to keep roads safe, so please bear with us when reporting other defects. Our injection patching programme will also be put on hold.

Fostering

Despite the current situation, we continue to be here for local vulnerable children and their carers, and for all those of you who want to get into fostering.

Following the government’s advice on social distancing, we have decided to cancel our upcoming information evenings. We will return to running them as soon as it’s safe to do so. View more information

Parenting Programmes

All parenting programmes have been suspended until further notice. If you are a professional supporting vulnerable families, or a parent and require urgent support, then please contact the parenting team on 0208 937 4717
