Things to read

The coronavirus pandemic has placed a strain on many households. If you do not have enough money for food, or know someone who is vulnerable and needs support, you can:

  • Get a free hot meal
  • Apply for an emergency food package from your local food bank.

Free hot meals

There are a number of places in the borough where you can go for a free hot meal, regardless of your household circumstances.

Food banks

Food banks work on a referral basis. You can apply for a food voucher by:

  • Contacting Brent’s Welfare Assistance Team on 020 8937 5796 (select option 2, then option 3) to request a food bank voucher
  • Visiting your local Brent Hub. Hubs are currently operating a reduced service because of staff shortages, so please check the website for latest opening times
  • Contacting a referral agency
  • Please do not contact Food Banks directly, as they will re-direct you to Brent's Welfare Assistance Team.

  • Maintain at least a two metre distance between yourself and others
  • Ask for items to be left on your door step
  • Do not share your bank card or PIN with anyone
  • Do not invite someone you do not know into your home.
