Residents take pride in their local spaces and would never dream of dumping their waste on our streets. Unfortunately, there is a small minority who are causing a huge amount of mess in Brent, which wastes over £1.5m of local taxpayers money on cleaning up the mess.

Zero-tolerance approach
We are taking a zero-tolerance approach to selfish fly-tippers and litterers as part of our Don’t Mess With Brent Campaign.
You can expect to see:
More fines
From the end of May to the end of June we saw a 141% increase in the number of Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) issued for littering and fly-tipping.
Bigger fines
Our fines start at £500 and go up to the maximum we are legally allowed to issue at £1,000.
More enforcement officers
Since May we have had several new enforcement officers on our streets and in our parks giving out fines to those that are making Brent a mess.
We want to show fly-tippers that Brent will not accept its streets and green spaces being used as a dumping ground, but we want to continue to offer residents easy ways of getting rid of their rubbish.

Can you help us
Together, we can help make Brent clean and green, but we need your help to highlight when someone has fly-tipped so that our crews are made aware and can act.
