Every year an estimated 336,000 tonnes of used clothing goes to landfill in the UK. There is absolutely no need for any clothing or textiles to make its way into the grey rubbish bin.
Blue recycling bin
We will collect mixed textiles and clothes with your blue bin collection. You must put all items of clothing in clear plastic bags or sacks, or in labelled plastic bags and place them next to the blue top bin on your collection day.
We will collect them the day after your normal recycling collection takes place.
If your textiles have not been collected by the end of the day after your usual recycling collection, please report a missed collection.
TRAID
The charity TRAID collects unwanted clothes and textiles direct from your door. Simply book a collection time and date that suits you and one of their drivers will pick up your donation from you.
You can donate unwanted clothes, including shoes, accessories and linen, as long as it is in clean condition. Please note, they cannot collect duvets or pillows.
By donating your old unwanted textiles to TRAID, you are taking them out of the waste stream and preventing fly tipping within your area.
