Using the Parking Permit Portal

Setting up a new RingGo permit account

Your online parking account is where you can buy permits and manage your visitor parking. If you are new to RingGo or need help applying for or buying permits, you can find information on this page.

You need to register an account on the RingGo permit system, even if you already have have a RingGo parking account.

Once you have set up your account, you can then use the RingGo app (used for paying by phone for on street parking), to conveniently purchase permits.

How to set up an account

Follow the steps below to set up your new permit account, apply for and buy permits.

  1. Register or login to your RingGo account

    1. Register or log in to your parking account

    2. Enter a valid phone number and click ‘continue’. We recommend that you enter your mobile phone number into the ‘Telephone Number’ field. This means that you will be able to manage your permits and book visitor parking sessions with ease using the RingGo app on your mobile device.

      If you already have an account with RingGo (for example, when paying cashless at pay & display machines), then please login and skip to 'Create a permit application' (step 1).

    3. Enter your personal details and click ‘next’. If requested, enter the verification code sent to you and click ‘next’.

    Your RingGo account has now been created.

  2. Create a permit application

    1. Click on the permit you would like to buy from the list of icons.

      The selected permit application page will be shown. Please read the relevant details of the permit and click ‘apply’

    2. Enter your postcode and click ‘find address’. If you have entered a valid postcode, a drop-down box will be displayed for you to select your address. Once selected, click ‘next’.

      If you receive an error message, check that you are applying for the correct permit. If you continue to experience difficulties with purchasing a permit, please email us at parking.permits@brent.gov.uk

    3. Complete your personal details, if not auto filled.

      If you are making an application for a permit that is vehicle specific, you will also be asked to enter the vehicle registration number.

    4. Provide proof of address.

      Please select the document you will be uploading from the drop-down list and click upload. This will now allow you to choose the file to be uploaded. Click ‘confirm’ to proceed.

      The system will match your name and address with other electronic records we hold. This is an automated check and may take a few seconds. You will be able to buy your permit immediately.

    Your permit application has now been completed.

  3. Purchasing permits

    Once your application has been approved, you will be able to purchase your required permit/s.

    1. Click on ‘Permit Applications’ in the left-hand menu. You will be shown your permit application/s. An approved application will be titled ‘Authorised’ followed by the permit type. Click on the green ‘purchase’ icon.

    2. Select the length and start date/time of the permit (also referred to as a ‘parking session’). Click ‘next’.

    3. The price of your permit will be displayed. Select a payment method and click ‘next’ and follow the on-screen instructions to finalise your purchase.  

      Once completed, you will receive an email to confirm your purchase.
      Please note that a virtual permit will be valid from immediate effect of your entered date/time.

      You can also view your active permits/sessions in your permit application list on your home page.

Paper permits

If you have an existing paper based permit, this is still valid. These need to be clearly displayed in the vehicle to be valid. You should usually receive your permit within 5 working days. If you do not receive your paper permit, please contact us by emailing brentpermits@nsl.co.uk

Please note that emails may go into a junk folder so please add noreply@engineering.preprod.ringgo.cloud to your safe list.

How to submit your documents

Follow the instructions when creating an account on the RingGo portal. If you experience any difficulties, please contact us at brentpermits@nsl.co.uk.

Existing permits and vouchers

If you already have an existing valid digital permit, it will automatically be transferred to the new portal.

You will receive an automatic email reminder from RingGo 7 and 14 days in advance to let you know when your permit will expire. Paper permits are unaffected.

Enforcement officers have details of existing valid virtual permits so you should not be issued with a penalty charge notice.

Why can't I see my existing permit in RingGo?

Existing permits are still valid up to the expiry date, this will not be shown on RingGo website.

You will receive an automatic email reminder from RingGo to let you know when your permit will expire.

Will my existing visitor parking permits remain valid until their date of expiry? 

Yes, any parking sessions booked for visitors in advance using the previous system will still be valid for the dates booked.

I need to change the vehicle and other details on my existing permit

To change any details on existing permits please contact us by emailing parking.permits@brent.gov.uk

We then make changes to your existing permit.

Renew a permit

If you have an existing resident or business permit, an automatic email reminder will be sent to you from RingGo before your permit expires.

How do I purchase a Resident Permit?

Before you can purchase resident permits, you will need to register your account and make an application using the guidance below.

At the application stage you will be required to upload one proof of residency, and you will also be required to provide proof that you are the keeper of the vehicle.

Once your permit application is approved, you can then purchase sessions via your RingGo account on the app.

The RingGo app won't let me purchase parking visitor permits

Before you can purchase visitors permits you will need to register your permit account and make an application using the guidance below.

At the application stage you will be required to upload one proof of residency. Proof of vehicle ownership is not required for visitor permits.

Once your permit application is approved, you can then purchase sessions via your RingGo account on the app.

What happens to visitor vouchers on my account?

Any unused visitor vouchers from the previous permit portal (DASH) could not be transferred onto the new portal (RingGo).

We will issue a refund against any unused vouchers that you had left in the previous permit portal, by the end of July. The value of the refund will be based on the current fees charged for visitor parking sessions.

As a gesture of goodwill, your will also be credited with a free all day parking session.

Why cant I find my address / zone in RingGo?

You should be able to purchase permits relevant to your address. We are aware of reported issues with some addresses and these have now been resolved.

Permits are not available to residents that live in ‘Car Free’ developments.

Why haven’t I received verification code via SMS after setting up my account?

If you already have a RingGo account attached to the email you are using, you may not get the verification code. You can try using the forgotten password link.

You can also ask for the verification code to be resent via the RingGo website.

There is an automatic approval process and once approved you will receive the verification code, but this can take a short time. 

Why have changes been made to the permit system?

New contracts with NSL for Parking Enforcement and RingGo for permits commenced on 4 July. The new RingGo permit system replaces DASH which is no longer supported and therefore needed to be replaced.

Can I purchase a permit without a PC or smartphone?

Residents that do not have a computer or smart phone can set up their accounts by visiting their local Brent Hubs.

Residents can also use computers located at the Brent Civic Centre.

You will need to provide proof of residency dated within the last 3 months, this should be a bank statement, gas, electricity, water or telephone bill, council tax bill or driving licence. You must also show proof that the vehicle is registered to the applicants address, this can include a vehicle registration document (V5C) , hire or lease agreement, letter from your employer on letter headed paper (if a company car) or current schedule of insurance (must have at least 3 months remaining)

Once the account is set up, residents can call RingGo parking service on 0203 046 0010 from a landline, the automated telephone system will ask you to enter your mobile number. At this point you need to enter your registered mobile number and PIN / password in order to confirm your account and fast-track the process. If you do not know your PIN / password then you should request an email reminder using our online PIN / password recovery tool. You will also be asked to follow this same process if calling from a mobile device where your number is withheld or caller identification is withdrawn.

If you do not own a mobile device, you can enter the landline number you are calling from (if it has not already been recognised). The system will then continue as normal asking for your details such as vehicle registration, location code and payment card information in order to park. Landline numbers can also be registered with the RingGo web and mobile app facilities.
