There are various types of equipment to help you get on with everyday tasks. Items such as raised toilet seats, bath boards and seats, walking frames and grab rails are available to purchase in a range of stores and pharmacies.

You can even do your own assessment to find the right equipment you need at AskSARA.

Equipment to live safely and independently

Telecare is the equipment to enable someone to live safely and independently in their community with a 24/7 remote monitoring service.

Telecare equipment includes:

  • pendant alarms
  • community alarms (eg pull–cord alarms, which allow you to call for help or alert a call centre automatically if you have a fall at any time of the day or night)
