Where to put your bins for collection

For all collections you need to put your bins as near to the street as possible or they will not be emptied.

The bins must be kept within your garden and not permanently on the pavement, except where a special arrangement is already in place with us.

Please note that the following examples are a generalisation only and do not represent every housing type in Brent.

Where should I put my bins on my collection day?

If you live in a property with a large front garden, you must put your bins at the front of your drive or pathway, as near to the street as possible. Bin placement example 1
If you live in a property with a small area at the front, you must also ensure that your bins are put as near to the street as possible or they will not be emptied. Bin placement example 2
If you live in a property, with a very small front garden and no space to move your bins, the changes do not affect you. You can continue to keep your bins where they are. Bin placement example 3
You must ensure that your bins are not put on the pavement. Pavement bin placement

I am unable to move my bins. What will happen?

We provide a special assisted collection service for residents who are unable to move their bins out for collection. This service is only available to residents who have a disability or health condition and live in a property where no one is able to move their bins for them.

An assisted collection means that our operatives will come in to your front garden to collect your bins from a location that we have agreed with you.

If you currently receive an assisted collection these changes do not affect you. Our operatives will continue to collect your bins as usual.

If you believe you need an assisted collection, please contact us or phone 020 8937 5050.
